Acclinate’s Equitable IBD Innovations

doctor talking to patient

Though irritable bowel disease (IBD) is classically associated with White patient populations, these conditions have been on the rise in communities of color. In fact, rates of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis among those who identify as Black and Hispanic increased 134% from 1970 to 2010.1

Acknowledging IBD clinical trials have often ignored these demographics, Acclinate has partnered with leading research sponsors to engage and support community members with Crohn’s and colitis.

Our Approach

  • Build a NOWINCLUDED gut community circle to provide gut health resources
  • Partner with advocacy groups and healthcare providers to engage & educate members
  • Curate clinical trial opportunities and gathering insights on barriers to participation in clinical trials

I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis 12 years ago and I truly felt alone within my IBD journey. I truly appreciate hearing other patient’s stories and learning how they navigate the ups and downs of living with a chronic illness.
